FAQs

What is a Intutive medium?

Emily’s readings represent a choice of “intuitive” and “mediumistic” energy.

With Intuitive Readings, Emily connects with the energy of the living, and then uses the power of “inner self,” “higher power” and “Spirit” to receive messages for you about your life. The greater goal of an intuitive reading is to receive information that can be validating and helpful — and to offer you actionable advice and guidance.

With a Mediumistic Reading, Emily connects with loved ones who have passed to the Spirit world through a faster, more specific energy. The Spirits provide information, messages and guidance, both about themselves and about your life.

With a Pet Reading, Emily connects to either the living or spirit energy of the animal, giving voice to those who cannot speak. Emily allows the energy of the animal to speak and then allows you to ask questions.

If you are ready for a deeper dive, sit for a Spiritual Assessment, which looks at your own journey with Spirit, where you’ve been and the possibility. The reading will also assess your aura colors & meet your Spirit Guides.

What does a typical reading look like?

No two readings are the same, but Emily will commence the session by stating and setting her intentions. She will connect with Spirit and give you either identifying information about a loved one (medium reading), about your own situation and questions (intuitive reading), or about your pet. She will convey that information, and then confirm with you that you recognize or identify with the information that is being relayed. She will ask the Spirit for a message or ask you if you have any questions for the Spirit. She can also then try to contact other loved ones, speak with spirit guides, or field additional questions as time allows.

I’m scared! What if a bad message/person comes through?

Emily trains at the world renowned, Arthur Findlay College, where the expert, friendly guidance of the Tutors of the Spiritualist Church give a working framework where only spirits with clear, healing intentions come through. Some refer to this as “working in the light”. With this work, readings are focused on providing evidence of life beyond live, relaying messages, and helping in the lives of the living. Emily understands the level of trust it takes to visit a medium, puts you at ease with her calm presence, and will stop at any sign you are distressed.

My loved one just passed, Can you bring them through?

Typically, our loved ones & pets need a bit of time to both adjust to the other side, and be able to communicate with a medium. If the passing was expected, Emily suggests waiting at least three months. If passing was unexpected, wait at least 6 months, but potentially closer to a year. Emily cannot control who comes through, as Spirit brings through the person with the biggest message for you.

Can I bring my friend/sister/parent at a medium reading?

Yes you can, if your connection to the loved one in Spirit is similar & strong (i.e. family). Emily cannot control which Spirit comes through the open door, so it is possible that some in your group might know the spirit, and others may not. But if all parties are in agreement, Emily is happy to read for a group. See pricing on the Scheduling page.

Can I have you read for a group of my friends?

Yes! Emily loves to read for groups, and can do so in two ways. She can bring through mediumistic messages of loved ones for the group, with all parties listening to the communications. As with any reading, Spirit will bring through the most urgent messages to those in the group, and it’s possible that not all people will get a message. This can be in person or over zoom.

The second way is to do shorter, individual intuitive readings, which would be done in a quite place at the in person gathering, intended only for the ears of the individual.

Pricing for zoom readings for up to 4 people is on the scheduling page. For larger groups, please reach out via email.

do you do in person meetings?

The majority of readings are done over Zoom for ease of all involved. It does NOT change the energy of the reading or the message. If you’re interested in an in person reading, please reach out. Emily is NYC based, so outside the immediate area, there may be travel fees.

Can I gift a reading to someone?

Yes! Please use THIS LINK. Just make sure the person is on board with this type of work before you purchase. Thank you!

practical tips for a reading

Keep an open mind. Communication with the Spirit World can be surprising. The information might not be what you were expecting. The Spirit who comes forward might not be the person you were expecting.

Try to Relax. The anticipation of a reading may cause excitement, anxiety or a mix of both. The more you can relax, the more focused you can be.

Skepticm is welcomed and a part of normal life. Emily is an evidence based Psychic Medium, and will bring forward things you can verify about yourself, the loved one in spirit or the pet. She does ask that you remain open to the experience while sitting with her, as it helps the energy flow.

Crying is normal. Spirits routinely convey their emotions to Emily — and they are often BIG. That’s why they are eager to jump through the door. She strives to make you feel as comfortable as possible. All emotions are welcome.

Use your voice.  Emily sees, hears, and feels things from the spirits and, through her interpretation, communicates them to you. She will ask if things are making sense to you; please say “yes'“, “no”, or “I’m not sure”. Emily can ask the Spirit for clarity if she’s misinterpreted something.

Spirits are loud, but phones should be quiet. Put your phone on airplane mode, turn off the dings from Slack/text/Apple watch/etc.

After a reading, you may feel a “high” or very sensitive, emotional, or worn out. This is normal and typical with energy work. Give yourself time to process. Discussing with a friend can also be helpful. For pets, anecdotal evidence Emily has heard is that it makes some pets tired, with a nap being the cure.

HOw Do I prepare for a reading?

First, take a moment to think about your intention for the reading. If you are trying to contact a loved one, it’s great to make that known to the universe, through meditation, prayer, or saying the words — whatever works for you.

Second, it is best to make a list of questions you have. These can be very general, about your life, work, family, etc. If you are trying to speak with a loved one, make that list as well. For pets, same things apply, but also if there’s any behavioral things happening, good to write those down. Occasionally people “blank” or lose focus once the reading gets started and it’s great to have things written down in advance.

Finally, find a quiet space, relax and cleanse your energy by taking a few deep breaths.

Please put your phone on silent!
